About Me
Hello! My name is Jennifer Halper (I prefer Jen) and I am a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R)
with a private practice located in Amherst, NY. I am also licensed in Colorado and see clients via Telehealth only. I am
originally from Long Island, NY, moved to Buffalo, NY in July 2018, and moved to Colorado in May 2023. I have my
Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Molloy College and Master's degree in Social Work from New York University.
In addition, I have a Post-Master's Certificate in Child and Family therapy from NYU and am fully trained as an EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist.
My goal for therapy is to work towards helping my clients find the strength and resilience needed to get through what life brings to the table. I use multiple therapeutic approaches with each client and tailor therapy to each individual's needs. I take great pride in building a strong therapeutic relationship with the clients I see, as I believe that is the foundation of therapy. It can seem like a challenge to find a good therapist, but it is absolutely worth it to push forward until you find the best fit for you.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families as a whole. I enjoy watching people grow throughout the therapeutic process, whether that entails mending strained relationships, decreasing negative thoughts or behaviors, increasing self-esteem, embarking on a new journey, or finding personal strength. My passion to help others is what motivates me daily.
